Most car search forms ask what you already know — make, model, budget. That's fine if you've decided. If you haven't, it's the wrong question. This quiz asks about your life instead: who's in the car, how far you drive, where you park it, what you can spend. It then translates that into the search filters that actually correspond to those needs, and runs it across AutoTrader, eBay Motors, Cazoo and Cinch at once.

If you told us you drive into a clean air or low emission zone, we've filtered towards vehicles likely to be compliant. Compliance depends on a vehicle's Euro emissions standard, not its registration year: petrol cars generally need Euro 4 (most registered from January 2006) and diesels need Euro 6 (most from September 2015), while battery-electric cars are always compliant. Registration year is a reliable guide but not a guarantee, so check the specific car's number plate on TfL's vehicle checker before you buy.
