Most people buying a used car in the UK check one site, maybe two, and assume they've seen the market. They haven't. The same car is often listed at different prices on different platforms, and each site carries stock the others don't. Car Cupid takes one set of search criteria and builds the matching search for all four at once, so you're comparing the whole market instead of a slice of it.
AutoTrader is the largest UK marketplace by a distance, carrying both dealer and private listings with no age or mileage limits. It's the widest net and usually the first place to look, but that scale means the most noise to filter.
eBay Motors skews towards private sellers and auction-style listings. It's where the genuine bargains hide, and also where you need to do the most homework. Buyer protections work differently from a trade purchase, so it rewards the prepared.
Cazoo is now a dealer marketplace rather than a retailer. The original Cazoo bought and sold its own cars and went into administration in 2024; Motors.co.uk acquired the brand, relaunched it as a search marketplace, and in May 2026 retired the Motors name entirely in favour of Cazoo. When you buy, your contract is with the dealer who listed the car.
Cinch is the one true direct retailer of the four. Cinch owns the cars it sells, delivers to your door, and backs every purchase with a 14-day money-back guarantee and a 90-day warranty. Prices are fixed with no haggling, so you trade a bit of margin for a consistent, low-hassle process.
Until recently we also searched heycar. In 2026 heycar UK was rebranded to Drive, narrowed its listings to Volkswagen Group retailers only, and stopped selling cars online in favour of passing enquiries to dealers. A search for a Ford or a Nissan sent there returns nothing useful, so we removed it rather than send you to a dead end.
